¿Conocéis los móviles Montessori? ¿Y qué relación tendrán con el aprendizaje de lenguas?. Edit es profesora de inglés, guía Montessori, y mamá de un niño trilingüe que tiene 4 años. Hoy nos cuenta su proyecto “Montessori Edited”, móviles Montessori para bebés con los que, además, se puede introducir el inglés de la forma más respetuosa.

Montessori Edited
“Maria Montessori strongly believed that the time when children are most open to learning languages begins at birth.
Research shows that this actually begins even earlier, in the womb. This is when they start to acquire and learn the language. They are also able to communicate with you from the start.”
“Babies are fascinated by the sound of your voice and facial language. They love to hear you talking and singing to them.
This is your opportunity to bring in a second language. For example, when you announce to your baby that you’re going to change the nappy or when it’s time for a bath.”

“Observing Montessori mobiles together provides you with an excellent opportunity to introduce English in your everyday routine. Maria Montessori designed these especially for newborn babies to accompany their visual development. The first one we introduce is the Munari mobile (read more about it here, in Spanish).”
“The best way to introduce it to your baby when focusing on language is in front of a mirror. Then, looking into it, you both see the same object reflected and the meaning of your words is clear.
You can observe it together for a few minutes, then you can say a few words in English. You might choose to name the object first: ‘mobile’. Then you can say its colours. If you gently blow on its elements, the mobile moves slightly. You might say ‘dancing’, or ‘moving’. You might call your baby’s attention to the ball, and say ‘round’, or ‘shiny’.”
